Wheelchair Handbike Add-Ons

A handbike attachment fits on to a manual wheelchair and adds a front wheel that you drive with your arms, with a motor, or with both. You can use your wheelchair as normal around the house, then attach the handbike when you want to go further and faster outdoors.

Three types of wheelchair handbike

• Manual handbikes are driven purely by arm power, through hand pedals.
• Hybrid handbikes add an electric motor that helps as you pedal, so you choose how much effort to put in.
• Powered add-ons are fully electric, driven by a battery-powered motor.

We also stock a smaller powered model made for children. You can see our full range of children's wheelchairs too.

Getting the right fit

Not every handbike suits every wheelchair, so the fit matters. Our team can bring a demonstration model to your home or show you one in one of our shops, take your measurements, and give you a quote for your exact set-up. Prices shown are for the standard configuration, and any extras are quoted separately.

Book a home demonstration, book a demonstration in store, or find your nearest shop.

Just need help pushing?

If you would rather keep your chair as it is and only need a hand with pushing, a power-assist device may suit you better.
