What is Motability?
Working alongside the DWP, the Motability Scheme provides a three-year, worry-free lease on a powered wheelchair or mobility scooter, helping thousands of people every year enjoy greater freedom and make the most of every day.
Leasing through the Motability Scheme gives you VIP-level peace of mind. Breakdown cover, insurance, warranty and maintenance are all included at no extra cost, even the batteries. And if your scooter ever needs repairs, you’ll receive a free loan scooter while yours is being fixed.
At the end of your three-year lease, you can choose a brand-new scooter or simply return your current one and stop paying for the lease.

To qualify for The Motability Scheme you, or a child in your care, must be receiving one of the following benefits:
- Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance
- The Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of PIP
- Armed Forces Independence Payment or War Pensioners Mobility Supplement
