What we can take
We are interested in mobility scooters, wheelchairs and powerchairs. What we are able to take depends on the make, the model, how old it is and the condition it is in — a well-kept machine with a healthy battery is a different proposition from one that has stood in a shed for a few winters.
Every machine is different, so the figure depends on the one in front of us. The person who answers the phone takes a few details — what it is, roughly how old it is, and how it has been looked after — and passes you to a specialist who can tell you honestly what we are able to do. There is no obligation either way.
Part exchange against a new scooter or chair
If you are replacing your scooter or chair rather than simply parting with it, part exchange is usually the easier route. You bring the old one in, we look it over, and whatever we can offer for it comes off the price of the new one. It saves you selling it privately and waiting for the right buyer to come along.
Many people do this when they come in to try something new. You can book a store demonstration, bring your old scooter or chair with you, and try the mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs you are considering while a specialist looks over the one you are trading in.
How it works

- A specialist takes a look. They will want to know the make and model, roughly how old it is, how much use it has had and how the batteries are holding up.
- You decide. We will tell you what we are able to offer, either as a straight purchase or against a new machine. If it is not for you, that is perfectly fine.

What happens to it afterwards
Equipment we take in does not simply disappear. Where a machine is worth it, it is checked over and tested before it goes on to somebody else through our approved used range, at a price they can manage. That is also why we are careful about what we take on — we only want to pass along something we would be happy to stand behind.
