    The Lithium Battery is concealed within its plastic hard outer shell thus allowing a little exposure to the elements however we always recommend to keep the battery free from moisture as prolonged exposure to such will affect the performance and lifespan of the battery itself.     I am looking for a scooter to take on the bus. So having to separately carry the seat and battery would not work well in this situation. Likewise as the scooter would be upright on a bus I wouldn't want the handlebar stem to be loose.
